Monoprinting and Collage Basics

About This Event

This workshop will use additive and subtractive monoprinting and collage techniques for layering color and creating actual and implied textures. Students will explore using processes of drawing, painting, cutting, cropping, rotating, and reassembling to arrange abstract compositions. Found and collected materials will be used, transforming items such as: mail, packaging, magazines, cardboard, with marks made by our own hands with an emphasis on repurposing tools and materials in new and unexpected ways. Each participant will leave class with an array of techniques, materials, and a finished work of art.
