Garden Etiquette
- No skateboards, hoverboards, scooters or motorized equipment allowed. Motorized scooters allowed only for mobility impaired.
- No hammocks or tents allowed.
- Please do not play in the water features.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- All outdoor flames are prohibited including candles.
- Balloons are not allowed.
- We are not able to store guests’ bags or luggage or hold onto it in any way.
- Please note: for smaller handheld photo equipment, you do not need to pay a commercial garden photography fee – only the price of regular admission and parking are required to enjoy a day and take personal pictures in the garden. General photography guidelines require that you do not block off a garden or a pathway.
- Reminder that the City of Dallas does not permit changing clothes in the public restrooms. Wedding parties and Quinceaneras must come already dressed for photo shoots. We do offer a two-hour rental in our VIP rental for $200 that can be reserved online.
- Pets are prohibited in the gardens with the exception of licensed service animals.
- To protect the plant collections, active sports and games are not permitted. Prohibited games and activities include, but are not limited to: kites, Frisbees or other plastic discs, egg hunts, roller skating, footballs, baseballs and soccer balls.
- Please do not stand or walk in garden beds or climb on trees or shrubs.
- The Dallas Arboretum is a smoke free garden. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted in parking lots. This applies during public garden hours as well as any evening public activities, including concerts, member activities and night time exhibits.
- Do not pick flowers.
- Please watch your step while in the garden. A botanic garden has many landscape design elements and there are uneven walkways and grade changes throughout the garden.
- All visitors are required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times. Arboretum management reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing items with offensive text, content and/or images.
- For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, costume masks and props weapons are not allowed in the garden.
- Do not take or harm any of the wildlife (this includes feeding squirrels).
- Bicycles are not allowed in the garden. There is a secured, designated bicycle stand in the parking lot. Please inquire with the parking or gate attendants for directions.
- Amplified music, musical instruments or any noise-making device is prohibited, unless pre-approved by the Arboretum.
The Dallas Arboretum honors discounts on our website only. Incorrect pricing and promotions by other entities will not be accepted. - We are unable to host any sort of memorial, wake or celebration of life events. We are so sorry that we aren’t able to help you with this but certainly appreciate you thinking of us for such a meaningful event.
