October 5: The Hexagon House
The largest of our pumpkin houses, the hexagon house features a myriad of this year’s pumpkin, gourds and squash, artfully arranged. This structure has a diameter of over 20 feet!

We are back with another feature of this year’s The Art of the Pumpkin display for Autumn at the Arboretum: a whimsical flowing pumpkin river.
September 21: The Art of the Pumpkin
This year’s pumpkin village display, The Art of the Pumpkin, features a stunning array of intricately designed pumpkin houses and murals composed of 90,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds!
September 14: Pecan Parterre
A favorite intimate wedding venue, the Pecan Parterre features ornate hedges, exceptional art and a lake view that can’t be beat!

Our Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill is an iconic two-acre garden featuring over 80 varieties of signature Japanese maples.
July 6: Crape Myrtle Allee
Opened to the public in 1994, Crape Myrtle Allee was originally funded by the Communities Foundation. Dedicated to John and Thelma Black by their daughter Peggy Braecklein. The Allee features a new lane of crape myrtle trees, which replaced the original trees planted by the DeGolyers. Paved with Pennsylvania bluestone, the Allee runs from the Paseo to Toad Corners. The Crape Myrtle Allee is a popular destination for family photo shoots and engagement photos.
June 29: Genesis Garden
A popular feature of our reknowned A Woman’s Garden, the pool in the Genesis Garden offers a shady respite in the heat of summer and features playful koi.
June 22: Ornamental Millet
Ornamental Millet ‘Jade Princess’ is planted along the Paseo de Flores, as well as in containers throughout the Main Garden. This showy, summer ornamental can be cut for arrangements and also features a syrupy-sweet aroma.
June 15: Echinacea
Echinacea, commonly known as coneflowers, are native to the eastern and central United States, with the name coming from the Greek word for “sea urchin”. During summer, you’ll find them in several areas of the garden including A Woman’s Garden and the Children’s Adventure Garden.
June 8: Container Trials
Don’t have space for seasonal color in your yard? Our container trial garden shows how much color you can pack in a small space!
June 1: Cannas
Cannas usher in summer at the garden, with a wide array of sizzling colors throughout the Paseo de Flores and AAS Trials.

May 18: Monet’s Muse
We often use the term water lily or lotus flower interchangeably, but there is a clear difference! The water lily blossom and leaves both float on the water’s surface, while a lotus flower extends up out of the water. Can you find examples of both on your next garden visit?

This classically designed pocket rose garden contains over 200 Hybrid Tea Roses of 16 different varieties, making for a stunning backdrop when the roses are in bloom, coupled with an enchanting opportunity to stop and literally “smell” the roses.
April 13: Pecan Parterre
A parterre is a level ground with ornamental plantings, from the French par terre (on the ground). Our Pecan Parterre, located below A Woman’s Garden, features a stunning two week bloom of foxgloves each spring.
April 6: Lay Family Garden
The Lay Family Garden is one of the most popular locales year round due, in large part, to our compelling water features and koi.
March 30: Dallas Blooms
The quintessential shot of our spring festival, Dallas Blooms, features cherries in full bloom with a carpet of tulips.
