Harvest Hues

The Pumpkin Village returns to the garden with a new theme each year, and this year it’s home to Harvest Hues. Six Pumpkin Houses translate the signature styles of modern and contemporary artists into pumpkins, gourds, squash, and harvest materials. Inspiration includes Mondrian’s primary color blocking rebuilt block by block in pumpkins, a towering, spindly spider inspired by Bourgeois perched atop its own house, and Pollock’s controlled chaos interpreted through the many shapes, sizes, and colors of gourds.
