Steve Coke, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Arboretum, was recognized at the Center for Non Profit Management’s Night of Light awards dinner on November 11th as the winner of their award for Excellence in Board Leadership. Mr. Coke has been involved in the activities of the Dallas Arboretum as either a board member or counsel for 24 years. For the last three years he has served as board chairman while the ground was broken for the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden and the Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill was completed. He has raised over a million dollars of support for the garden and led the organization to a budget in 2012 of $14M with approximately 700,000 in attendance yearly and a membership of over 24,000. Congratulations to this outstanding leader who has attached his name and talents to that of our Botanic Garden.
