Self Guided

Dallas's most beautiful classroom is the Arboretum's 66 acres located on White Rock Lake. Towering trees, colorful gardens and lush lawns are the perfect setting for an educational adventure. Visit the fossil walls in Lay Ornamental Gardens, explore the mist in the Palmer Fern Dale, step back in time and visit Texas Town.  Pack a lunch and picnic in our Lakeside Picnic area reserved just for school groups. Your students will be immersed in nature as they explore the beauty and wonder also of Dallas’s outdoor living science laboratory.

Monday – Friday, Pre-K – 12
$4 per child, $7 per adult
One teacher per class free


Adventure Backpack

Coming for a self-guided visit, but want more direction? Rent a backpack for your class that is full of materials and supplies and lead your own fun, interactive and educational visit. The backpacks have been developed to meet the TEKS for each grade level and include materials such as: hand lenses, UV detecting bracelets and journals. A teacher’s guide will be sent in advance so you will be prepared! A Butterfly Adventure Backpack is available.

$15 per backpack rental fee
